Preserving Your Pumpkin
Fall means pumpkin carving. But we all know that typically our great artwork on our pumpkins never gets to last long.
Alas, a solution is here! The ol’ faithful Pinterest showed me an easy solution to preserving your pumpkin for weeks!
After you scoop out and carve your pumpkin, dip it in a large container of bleach and water (use a 1tsp:1 gal mix).
The bleach will kill bacteria and help your pumpkin stay fresh longer.
DRAIN UPSIDE DOWN.
Once completely dry, add 2 tablespoon of vinegar and 1 teaspoon of lemon juice to a quart of water.
Brush this solution onto your pumpkin to keep it looking fresh for weeks.
This is perfect timing for our BYOP carving party we have coming up this Thursday at 6pm! We look forward to seeing your pumpkins displayed throughout the community! Happy Carving!
